Regional Senior HR Manager, Learning & Development

Job Description


Position Objective 

The Senior Manager supports the CHRO to perform leadership, management, administrative and professional work in the development and execution of a comprehensive talent management and development strategies in Asia. The role requires an influential and innovative approach at all levels to implement organisational wide initiatives, and address various needs associated with talent management and employee development.

This is a hands-on, individual contributor role that requires the incumbent to be business-sensitive and quick to respond with swift HR support to a very healthy fast-paced business growth MNC and diverse employees of about 10,000 employee region-wide. 

In addition to a specialist role (primary role), the incumbent is also expected to assume HR business partnership role (secondary role) for assigned business portfolio and will be responsible for partnering with the assigned business leaders on all HR strategic, tactical and transactional HR works.

Key Objectives and Success Factors Role and Responsibilities

  • Identifies and develops sustainable people strategies through identification and skills development to address critical soft skills gaps to support the organisation’s immediate and future needs. This includes identiifcation, content development, learning facilitation through to follow-up to ensure knowledge and skills transfer.

  • Leads and owns the performance management processes and tools such as the online performance management system. Continuously improve the effectivness and efficiency of the performance management processes and tools. 

  • Provides one-on-one coaching to managers and emerging leaders to support management effectiveness and leadership development.

  • Administers talent development evaluations; designs and presents training; develops and manages ongoing systems to reinforce continuous development.

  • Develops training contents/ curriculum on soft skills independently and conducts classroom training.

  • Supports HR Business Partners and Region Senior Leadership team and client departments in solving performance problems. Conducts assessments; reports results; partners with directors and managers in joint action planning; provides training, coaching, and/or facilitation; evaluates progress; and develops processes to reinforce positive results and develop sustainability of improvements.

  • As a HR business partner, understand/Identify the key business challenges and people/organisation implications; derive aligned HR plans for the region/markets. Proactively identify people and organisation issues, and build agreement with the region and market management teams of the appropriate courses of action and priorities.

  • Other duties as and when assigned.



  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in organisational development, business administration, human resources, psychology or a closely related field 

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in developing and implementing programs in employee and management training, leadership development, coaching, facilitation, organisational intervention or other areas aimed at strategically improving the performance of an organisation and its employees. And at least 7 years‘ experience in HR business partnering role. 

  • Must have business acumen and stay focused on delivering business-relevant programs; not obsessed with copy and paste of "best practices.”

  • A hands-on, self-starter with strong self awareness and strong affinity for solving problems promptly without escalations.

  • Ability to handle ambiguity in an evolving regional orrganization.

  • Collaborative with an eye for quality work and speed for action.

  • Ability to work equally effectively in team-based environments as well as work on multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Ability to establish, influence and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees with positive emotional quotient .

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a diverse population.
